Disappointing first experience with flight booking using ZUJI

I have always wanted to keep things positive as much as possible in my blog but I felt there is a need to inform you of this incidence which happened to me so that you may not be caught in the same situation. This is a personal story of my very first experience using the flight booking service provided by ZUJI and I would probably think twice when using their services again. Recommend their services to people around me? I don’t think so.

It all began last week when my sister called me up to assist her in booking a flight ticket to Wuhan, China for one of her staffs; her staff has approached her for help to find a cheaper air ticket to Wuhan. The agency he went to has quoted him SGD700++ for a direct flight ticket to Wuhan.

I opened up this website, went straight to the ZUJI’s affiliate page on JOURNEY and key in the dates and destination for a search. ZUJI’s returned with the pricing from the varies airlines as show below.

Vibe Beach Sports & Music Festival, Siloso Beach, Sentosa Island

Bringing the rhythm of sports and music together to create the ultimate beach festival.

Vibe Beach Sports & Music Festival

*Updates from Organisers, 8 October, 2014: “We are concerned about the health of the Vibe participants and after consulting the relevant authorities, we, the Organisers have decided to postpone the event to March next year, when the event is unlikely to be affected by the onset of the haze. We hope you will continue to support Vibe and we look forward to your presence at the event in March” (EXACT DATE TO BE CONFIRMED)

This is due to concerns regarding the onset of the haze lately and how it will affect the sporting event. The haze readings over the weekend in Singapore was in the “unhealthy” range. As the sporting events such as beach soccer, beach volleyball and beach Zumba are quite strenuous, the Organisers want to avoid perpetuating health issues with the Vibe participants.

Should you wish to hold on to your tickets for March, your tickets and/or team registrations will still be valid for use. Otherwise, a full refund will be extended to you.

There is a saying, “The more I know, the more I realise how little I knew.” Just this morning, I came across another quote from Socrates, “True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.” Travelling is eyes opening and humbling for one. Have you come across a story of the frog of the well?

The frog of the well, a fable by Chuang-tzu

The frog lived down in a well where there was all he had to live. One day, a softshelled turtle came by and told him about the sea. ‘The sea? Hah! It’s paradise in here. Nothing can be better than this well. Why don’t you come down and share my joy?’

The turtle tried, and failed as the mouth of the well was too small. ‘Why don’t you go see the sea instead? During Yu the Great’s reign, there was flooding for nine out of ten years, yet the sea barely grew an inch. During Tang of Shang’s reign, droughts were experienced in seven out of eight years, yet the sea hardly shrank. Being unaffected by such disasters is the joy of living in the sea.’
